It was 1:30 AM and the conversation was approaching 90 minutes. The two Spaniards with whom I had started chatting around midnight would not stop talking about their disinterest in the Catholic Church due to the observed hypocrisy seen in the leadership. Their frustrations seemed endless. In my experience, the young Spanish community has a lot to talk about when it comes to the Christian faith, but are there people listening? Are there followers of Christ who are coaching those who want to know Him? Less than 1% of the population of Spain considers themselves to be evangelical. I believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ offers life to the full now and in the future and so I desire to love the Spanish people in the El Palo neighborhood of Malaga well by authentically coming to know them and introducing them to this Gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray with my team and I for the Spanish people, that their thirst would be quenched. Malaga’s hope is to be a redemptive presence in the city as we develop leaders and invest in those who have yet to follow Jesus with their lives. We see this accomplished through the platform of living in and serving out of intentional community.
